The Power Of The Tongue
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. + Proverbs 18:21 King James Version (KJV)
In the previous post we briefly spoke about the power of music and how music moves people, especially Christian music during praise and worship.
The power of the spoken word, even the unspoken (which are thoughts), hold tremendous power to shape us and the world around us.
I know this is delving into the secular but I feel that I need to share this revelation that I have regarding the power of music and words. It’s for both followers to strengthen their relationship with God, and non-followers (or soon to be) to understand the power of God and His word in scripture and of prayer.
Here is a video of a scientist that has done studies of the results of the power of intend and the spoken word:
As you can see for your very eyes the power of you words and thoughts!
Now imagine, or think about, the thoughts that you often hold everyday. Or consciously think and reflect on the words that you say to others as well as yourself. Are they positive or negative? What those thoughts or words doing to you physically and spiritually?
As it was said “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”, and you’ve seen the proof for yourself. Are you speaking death into your life by speaking or thinking about negative things? Or, are you bringing life into your soul by praying, blessing, and praising before God?
That is why prayer is such a powerful thing. When you pray to our Father you are bringing the upmost high power into your life. You’re bring God into you, letting Him shape you with His will and His way.
Think about it. Reflect. And pray on it. Understand the power of music, words, thoughts, prayer, and God.
God Bless always. I Love You!
